Working closely with interpreters at Historic Environment Scotland, I developed five floors of exhibits within this original Arkwright Mill. They tell the story of its 200-year production history, the daily lives of the workers and the technology that powered the mills and processed the cotton. Exterior interpretation traces the history of the mill buildings and waterworks as the complex expanded over time.  As a member of Campbell & Co’s design team, I developed the content and directed the work of the illustrator, photographer and model makers. I also provided interpretive oversight for development of hands-on and multimedia interactives and audiovisual programmes. Stanley Mills won a Heritage and Museums award for heritage interpretation.
