The goal of the Steaming Ahead project was to help preserve intangible heritage related to the maintenance and running of steam locomotives. A modern, fit-for-purpose steam shed was built to allow new training programmes for volunteers and apprentices. At the planning stage, I facilitated workshops with staff and volunteers to produce an Interpretation and Signage Plan, which helped secure funding from NHLF. For the delivery phase, I developed a small exhibition on the viewing gallery in the new shed to interpret the work the visitors could see going on below.
