Pitlochry Dam Visitor CentreConsultation | Planning | Writing
This visitor centre overlooking Pitlochry Dam in Perthshire first opened in 2017. It tells the story of Scotland’s massive hydroelectric schemes, built following World War II. Men blasted and hand-dug tunnels through mountains to bring 'Power to the Glens' at a time when only one Highland croft in a hundred had electricity. This feat of engineering changed rural life in Scotland forever. I consulted with community members and SSE subject specialists to plan exhibitions that brought out human stories and explained renewable technologies. Now in 2024, I am again working with the client to refresh and update some of the exhibits related to biodiversity and wildlife projects. |
