Pearse Cultural Centre ConnemaraConsultation | Planning | Writing
Patrick Pearse had a central role as a revolutionary in the events of the Easter Rising 1916, but he was also a well-known educator, writer and passionate activist for Irish language and culture. In the new centre, I worked with Bright to interpret this 'other side' of Pearse, in the place he came to retreat from public life. The project was nominated for an AHI Discover Heritage Award. “The Pearse Cultural Centre, Connemara is a welcome addition to the tourist offering in South Connemara and on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is an ideal location to give visitors an insight into the rich Gaelic culture and traditions that are abundant in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Here in Rosmuc, traditional Gaelic culture is alive and thriving and now visitors can really get an immersive experience and interact with our national language, song, dance and story telling traditions. ...The interpretation techniques used are world class and allow visitors of all ages to engage with the culture and heritage of South Connemara.”
