My five-year involvement in Skipton began with consultation workshops, which resulted in an Interpretation Plan in support of a successful NHFL Stage 2 application. The relocation of the Museum provided an opportunity to re-interpret the collections, including its star object - a rare Shakespeare First Folio. During the delivery phase, I worked collaboratively with the curatorial team to finalise object lists, write copy and develop interpretive briefs for hands-on and digital interactives. I also met regularly with the exhibition design team at Campbell & Co to coordinate design and interpretive aspects of the project. The Museum reopened in summer 2021.
'Thanks so much for taking us through the whole interpretation writing period. You advised us very well through the whole process and I’m really pleased with how the panels and labels have taken shape. You’ve given the graphic panels a good clear message and overall voice which we are really happy with – they’d have been a lot more long winded if we’d written them! I just wanted to say how much we’ve enjoyed working with you.' -Rachel Terry, Museum & Collections Officer
